Sniffwork training is great fun, suitable for all dogs and helps build strong bonds and improves relationships between owners and their dogs. Sniffwork is suitable for dogs of any age, breed and previous experience. They do not need to be a breed usually associated with sniffwork as all dogs can be taught the skills for this.
There are 2 options to get started in sniffwork training depending on the skills and training your dog already has:
1) Join the Foundation Sniffwork Course directly if your dog has some good basic training already
2) You may prefer to complete an Adolescent, Keep Calm, or Foundation 1 course before joining the Foundation Sniffwork course if your dog has not yet got some firm basics in place or are impulsive and excitable
We prefer dogs to have a good basic training and be comfortable around other dogs to come straight onto the Foundation Sniffwork course. Once you have completed the Foundation course (or if you have previously completed some training elsewhere) we have on-going training groups you might like to join.
We work on introducing a search cue, finish cue, one specific search scent (usually cloves), how to prepare and use the scent and at least 4 types of searches; bags & boxes, pipes, tables & chairs, exterior vehicle and/or random object searches. We also introduce other aspects of sniffwork.
10 weeks (5 weeks training, 2 week break, 5 weeks training).
MOST SUITABLE FOR - dogs of any breed or age with good basic training in place and who are comfortable around others.

Engagement is the foundation of all other training and has a positive knock on effects for lead walking, recall and general training (with consistent practice). We do not want to force/demand engagement from the dogs but have them want to engage with us, opting in. Includes a range of games and training to increase the engagement from the dog, focus on handler and opt-in. We run 2 Engagement Workshops, each including slightly different games and training. Follow up videos for recapping are included.
1 hour 20 minutes each, £25.
A standalone workshop introducing the concept of interactive walks and giving you a selection of activities to increase the engagement between you and your dog on walks. Increased interactivity on walks can help to improve recall, dog staying in closer proximity and focus on handler. An introductory webinar and follow up video library are included. 1 hour 20 minutes, £25.
Not for you (commonly known as leave it or don't pick that thing up) is commonly taught in the moment with the dogs not always having a clear idea about what is being asked of them. We teach it from the ground up, so the dogs have a super clear understanding of the concept and are then able to repeat in various situations including food, bins, socks, toys and poo (if the concepts are applied carefully and training practice continues). £50.

A standalone workshop looking at the concepts of arousal, how to identify over/under arousal and how to suck their brains back in when we have lost them due to excitement and distractions. Reconnection can be super helpful during walks and have a positive impact on lead walking and recall as well as with visitors and when out and about in the world. An introductory webinar and follow up video library are included. 1 hour 20 minutes, £25.
Teaching the dogs to look at distractions (e.g. people, dogs, wildlife, vehicles) and automatically refocus on the handler. This training is a great foundation to improve recall and loose lead walking (over time with ongoing practice). Suitable for dogs who are excitable around distractions or who chase wildlife, not for overwhelmed/reactive dogs. £50.
